ABOUT THE COLLECTIVE
Grow Together. Create Together. Thrive Together.
Marianas Artists Collective is a community-driven platform connecting artists, makers, and cultural practitioners across the Mariana Islands.
Too many talented creators across the Marianas go unseen — not for lack of skill, but for lack of visibility and access to the resources that help creative work grow. Marianas Artists Collective exists to close that gap. We’re building the infrastructure our creative community has long deserved: a place to be discovered, a place to connect with each other, and eventually, the shared spaces and tools that make a sustainable creative practice possible.
Rooted in Heritage, Connected by Design

Our emblem is a bridge between ancestral artistry and our modern creative community.
The mark is directly inspired by motifs carved into local Early Pre-Latte pottery sherds—some of the earliest artistic expressions in the Marianas. Translating the artifact’s distinctive circular stamps and incised lines into a clean geometric “M”, the mark reveals three stylized human figures holding hands in unity.
It is a symbol of strength in connection: honoring the ancient hands that shaped our island history while building a supportive, forward-looking network for the artists of today.
Preserving Our Culture
Alongside contemporary artists working across every medium, we support traditional cultural practitioners — weavers, carvers, potters, storytellers, and more — whose knowledge connects us to the culture and heritage of the Marianas. Promoting and preserving their work isn’t just a secondary project; it is central to everything we do.
Where we are now:
Our Artist DIRECTORY is live! It serves as an open hub helping practitioners across Saipan, Tinian, Rota, and beyond get discovered by our local community and international supporters alike.
Where we’re headed:
As our collective grows, our vision includes:
- Community Art Fairs & Exhibitions: Physical spaces to display, showcase, and sell local work.
- Shared Workspaces: Access to shared tools, equipment, and studio space for makers.
- Member-Led Workshops: Skill-sharing classes taught by creators within our community.
- Opportunities Hub: A centralized resource for grants, residencies, and exhibition calls.
- Direct Funding: Eventually offering our own grants and micro-funding to support local projects directly.
We’re building this collective one step at a time — and we’re glad to have you along for the journey.
